The Magic of Oil Cleansing
Oil cleansing is an ultra-gentle ritual to support many different aspects of skin health. One of the most unique benefits of oil cleansing is its ability to gently remove dead skin cells without the use of exfoliants.
By dissolving sebaceous “glue” that prevents optimal exfoliation, lightweight oils help to loosen stubborn dead skin cells and reveal brighter, more vibrant skin.
If you’re extra sensitive and have a highly compromised skin barrier, a gentle cleansing oil like Radiance is the perfect place to start to begin to reset your skin barrier.

Milk thistle oil
A blemish-fighting oil, rich in acne-fighting linoleic acid and antioxidant polyphenols like silymarin. New research shows that compounds present in milk thistle may even help to block the formation of acne at its earliest states.

Immortelle flower oil
A precious oil extract from the Immortelle (also known as Helichrysum) flower, known and named for retaining its bright yellow color even after the flowers have been dried. This resilient plant thrives in some of the harshest conditions, offering a similar strength to the skin through its fortifying, rejuvenating, and reparative properties. Traditional medicine principles suggest the plant would offer these same attributes to our skin — resilience, strength, and everlasting vibrancy.

Magnolia bark extract
A powerful, high-polyphenol extract that soothes stressed skin, modulates the skin nervous system, balances the skin microbiome, and activate longevity pathways in skin cells.
Apply 2-3 pumps to dry skin and massage into the skin. Drench a washcloth in hot water and wring out to remove excess water. Lay the hot towel across the skin for 10-15 seconds to lift the oil and impurities. Then, gently wipe away excess oil. Follow with Purity as a second cleanse and finish with the rest of The Sana Method.
Massage for longer periods of time for deeper exfoliation. Move from the inner face to the outer face and down the sides of the neck to stimulate lymphatic flow.

FAQs
Yes! Radiance can be used as the only cleanser, especially if your skin is in a very compromised state. However, in general, but especially if you wear sunscreen and/or makeup, it is recommended to follow with a second cleanse at night using a gentle surfactant-containing cleanser like our Purity cleanser. Purity is a gel oil-to-milk cleanser and ultra-gentle on skin.
Radiance and Purity are very similar! They are both ultra-gentle cleansers that are suitable for sensitive skin types. The major difference is Radiance is a cleansing oil whereas Purity is a gel oil-to-milk cleanser that contains a small amount of gentle surfactants. Radiance penetrates deeper into the skin due to its lightweight structure, making it more effective for dissolving blackheads, removing makeup / sunscreen, and exfoliating dead skin cells, whereas Purity provides a deeper cleanse, more effectively removes impurities, and infuses hydration into the skin during cleansing. Purity can also double as a hydrating mask!
Radiance and Purity are designed to be used together and complement one another for a truly holistic, double-cleansing routine.
Absolutely. A cleansing oil is a great way to cleanse very compromised skin. For the most sensitive skin types, sometimes even the most gentle surfactants can be slightly irritating. Radiance is surfactant-free and so is the gentlest option for the most compromised skin.
In this case, Radiance can be used as the only cleanser until the skin in a more resilient state. If makeup is worn, it’s best to minimize use and repeat the oil cleansing process with Radiance twice at night. To further boost barrier repair and speed up the healing process, apply 3-4 drops of our Vitale elixir AM and PM.
Yes! Radiance is a great option for lubricating the skin to use facial tools. However, porous gua sha stones and stone-based facial tools contain microscopic pores that can hold bacteria and trigger breakouts. Improper use of gua sha tools may also cause microcomedones to rupture follicle walls underneath the skin, leading to cystic breakouts. So, keep that in mind if breakouts are a concern!
